Intel Identity Dashboard Tutorial

Whether you’re a developer, who signed up with Intel® Cloud Services Platform, or a user who logged into an Intel Cloud Services Platform application, an Intel® Identity Services account will be generated. Please refer to Intel Cloud Service Platform Developer Sign-up Tutorial and Intel Cloud Service Platform End-User Sign-up Tutorial for information about creating your Intel account. Once your account is created and activated, you can manage it through the Intel Identity Services Dashboard. This tutorial helps you explore the main Dashboard capabilities.

Since Intel Cloud Services supports two development environments, Production and Test, you will have an account and a dashboard per environment.

Learn more about the Production and Test development environments at Development Environment Tutorial.

Once logged in, you will be directed to Intel Identity Dashboard’s main page:

Edit Your Profile

Edit Profile allows you to view and modify your Intel Identity profile information. The required fields are marked with an *.

We encourage you to also fill in the optional fields. Having Extended Profile information allows us to personalize your services.

Manage App Access to Identity Information

When end users allow the app to access their identity information, the app will grant permission to retrieve certain properties in their profiles. The end users have full control over their data and must explicitly grant or deny access. Under no circumstances can an application access the end user account information without explicit approval. End users can see which applications have access to their profile and manage permissions by going to Manage Your App icon on the left navigation menu area of the Intel Identity Dashboard:

At any time, you may revoke permissions granted for any application to access your account information.

Sign In with Social Media Credentials

You can link multiple social identities to your Intel Identity account. This allows you to log in to Intel Identity using any of your social credentials.

As a developer, this means that if your end users choose to link social accounts, they might log in to your app using different credentials. However, Intel Identity will take care of managing that and will make available to you a unique userId. For more information on Identity Services APIs please refer to: : Intel Identity Service Rest API Reference

Adding social media accounts can be done by selecting My other sign-ins:

Set Up Your Billing Profile

Finally, you can create and manage your billing profile by clicking “$” navigation menu on the left. It should noted that the developer must configure their billing profile before you can use the Intel Commerce Services. We need to have your billing information on file to authorize e-commerce transactions. Please refer to Intel Cloud Service Commerce Services Developer’s Guide for more information about Commerce Services.

Once the developer account is set up, end users can manage their billing profiles. End users must set up their billing profiles before they are able to purchase items through an app. For example, if an application sells digital goods, end users need to configure their payment methods before the Commerce Services can handle a transaction. Depending on whether the app is configured for  Production or Test user account, the rules about managing payment options are different. Please refer to the Development Environment Tutorial for more details about development environments and the Intel Cloud Service Commerce Services Developer’s Guide for more information about Commerce Services.

The next page allows you to provide your credit card information.

Note: If you are setting up an account that you plan to use to test your application in the Test environment, you need to use special test credit card numbers. Test credit cards allow you to test your Commerce Services apps without actually charging a credit card.

The following table summarizes well-known test credit card numbers from various vendors:

Note: Your app should not attempt purchases using the Test Credit Card numbers in the production environment. If your app attempts this, the payment processor will block the transaction and can trigger a fraud alert against your customer's account. You may wish to actively block all test credit card numbers in your production app to protect your customers.

Alternatively, if you set up an Intel account on the Production environment, you must provide valid credit card credentials.

When you submit your credit card information, you will receive a confirmation page from WorldPay, Intel’s payment processor, reporting the status of your test transaction:

Check that Acquirer Responses status is set to “Authorised” and click the Continue button.

Note: On some browsers and screen resolutions the Continue button may be hidden. If this happens, move the horizontal scrollbar at the bottom of the page to the right-most position to see the Continue button.
