I really would like to thank all the manageability idea contest participants. We can draw some insights into where the trends are around manageability based on these ideas. I see that the ideas submitted so far seem to gravitate around the manageability of devices, ideas to efficiently manage the infrastructure with minimum desk side visits, and make things more secure.
Many ideas seem to tap into manageability of devices like small business NAS device, telecom base stations or switches, ATM machines, RFID readers, cell phones / PDAs (with actually a twist on theft protection) --> just imagine the possibilities with manageability in every device.
Other ideas happen to be around using technology to efficiently manage computer systems with winimage, configure the SCSI adapters, managing mom's computer, health Care providers, Recovery solution with boot manager, High-availability fail over management
How can we leave security when it comes to infrastructure manageability? Improve company wide security (I thought we would see more ideas in this space).
I am really interested to see more creative ideas around manageability, where it matters and ideas to make managaeability more real.We are only about 2 weeks into the 6 week contest ... and, I am really looking forward to reading some more creative ideas around manageability. Keep it coming. Also, I encourage everybody to vote for your favorite ideas.
