Hello and welcome to another episode of Visualize this! where we talk about topics relating to Visual computing. I am Arti Gupta community manager for games development at Intel Software Network.
For Siggraph this year we decided on streaming live interviews with software vendors who are well known in the visual computing world and have worked with Intel products.
I spoke with John Civatte Director of Sales at BOXX technologies about the 4850 workstation, 10300 Render farm and Intel processors
Download link to a high quality MP4 video file
Here is a synopsis of the interview:
1. Tell us about BOXX technologies? What you do, what products you have, which audience do you serve?
2. BOXX technologies develops high performance machines to help digital artists. Why the focus on digital content creators?
3. How have Intel and BOXX partnered to take technology to the next level?
4. Boxx has the fastest single proc. Workstation; 4850 Extreme, tell us more about this workstation, what can it do that other cannot. (we can also show a clip showing how this workstation can handle a task better than its predecessors)
5. The BOXX 10300 Render farm has 20 Nehalem Processor / 80 cores within 4U space. What market segment is this best for, and what tasks are accomplished best on this (again will be good to provide a clip here if possible)
6. Earlier this year BOXX received the Intel award for Top Growth in the Desktop/Workstation Innovation. Tell us more about what this was for?
7. You mentioned BOXX is a premier partner. How has this helped BOXX technologies
