Having asked a question and received an answer only from 1 person who just happens to be a long-time dweller of this forum/community, I started wondering what could be the reason for this forum being so slow. I am sure there are more than 3 participants in the Partner Program, and the Software Business Forum could be a really invaluable resource for many. The only thing I could think of is the fact that this forum is extremely hard to find, which got even worse after the last site redesign. Even knowing that this forum exists, I remember it took me about 10 minutes to find it after the site redesign, and every time I returned I would still have a hard time finding it until I bookmarked it. Same situation with the blogs - lots of good info that's hard to find. I'd suggest for Intel to take a look at this situation and see if something can be done about it. The easiest thing to do is to at least email all program participants to let them know of this forum's existense and purpose, as we…

I am curious how other software companies handle this particular subject. We will sometimes get a letter from a user in a country whose language our software hasn't been translated into. The user would offer their help in translating our product into their language promising to do a good job. Do any software companies ever accept these offers? If you've done that, what was the result?I just wanted to see some opinions on this subject.

Hi All, Have seen the latest change made to the site with intregrating the program in One site. But it has complicated the process of two different program by merging into one. The Application Development program was or is more fosuced on Application which are mainly for AppUp store and Intel Software Partner Program was or is more of ISV's who has devloped or is working on all type of software. The point system was different from one other like in AppUp program the point was 500 point was awarded for paid application published in AppUp Store and 300 for Free Application Published in AppUp store, where as in ISPP the point was 5 to 20. I liked the change made by Intel of intregrating all in under One roof, but at the same time I am confused about how does will it work when everything was different from each other, either it was the point, the belt system, the Partner level or even individual status.

I am proposing a course on Embedded application development with ATOM processor for the undergraduate engineering students of computer science at their 6th semester level in my University. We have kits with Intel E6xx series processor which can be booted from Fedora linux. I wish tohave a list of some simple programming exercises which a student can takeup and solve on these kits using C/C++ compliersand get to know the "salient features of ATOM based processor and its usefullness in the embedded application development". I will be greatful, if someone can help me in this regard. The kits have standard USB ports , ethernet port and serial port.-Prof. Niranjan N.ChiplunkarNMAMIT, Nitte, India

Hi guys, thank you very much to all who is running and contributing to this forum. I would be glad if anyone can provide me non-general advice how to increase speed up or reduce overheads of for software which Im trying to parallelize. For my dissertation thesis Im developing software to predict dam inflow. Because calibration it is time demanding I would like to reduce that, by distribution to more cores. For this purpose Ive chose Intel Fortran and OpenMP. Software code is consist of many nested loop which most outer one is month step (DO = 1, 12). For this reason Ive used data decomposition approach for parallelization and Ive got PARALLEL DO in front of first outer one loop (to ensure big granularity). This way of parallelism resulted in quite low SpeedUp approximately 2.4. Thanks to amplifier I founded that there is no any wait time, no imbalance or idle processor time - all cores are fully utilized. Increasing work inside nested loops decrease achieved SpeedUp. Also by shift…

Go to "Modify Student Forecast/Actuals" in the right-hand nav of the homepage and then complete your forecast. The license email will be sent to your registered email address within 10 days. However, I cannot find the 'Update Membership Profile' and "Modify Student Forecast/Actuals" items. Therefore, I cannot figure out how to apply classroom tools licenses. Does anboy give some guidance for application? …

Hello fellow Academic Community members, So what exactly is Septembers Microgrant topic Data Structures about? Asked another way, to apply for a Microgrant of up to $5000 USD do you have to be teaching an actual class called data structures? Well, Im glad you asked!!! And the short answer is, absolutely NOT. To apply for a Microgrant this month (deadline September 30, 2011) you simply have to be writing or improving course materials for ANY course in which you are teaching (or will teach)parallelism in programming, and, more specifically, material in which your students intend to successfully implement data structures in parallel code. If youre currently wondering if specific content youd like to submit for a Microgrant award fit into our category this month, the Microgrant team recommends you first examine the ACM Data Structures-specific guidelines, here. If youd like a little more guidance than that, consider these more general guidelines for the appropriate ACM listings: Disc…

Is there an application to play mp3 wifi internet streams on razr i? power amp doesn't appear to accept streams (at least not in the trial version). If there is one which requires building for this target, I'd be glad to tackle it, with instructions about where to get the development tools. The YouTube app accepts some files from their site, stalls on others. Audio quality is good on the earbuds, not on the speaker. Razr I falls short on some aspects of user experience, but (priced at $350 anywhere but where Intel recommends) it's a reasonable value. AT&T local office was fully cooperative in transferring my account registation from the Blackberry. Over several days, it updated itself over wifi to USA software configuration, in spite of only European countries appearing in the "Cet appareil functions en:" list on the box, and the quick start guide provided en francais. No way is it possible to approach the minimum monthly data limit. Texting is still the big money maker for …

Please see: Forum topic: Compile Jelly Beans and other Web-link: software.intel.com/en-us/forums/topic/355808 for more information. Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 ( 7" or 9" ) tablet owners, Do you know that Samsung released Android 4.1.1 ( Jelly Bean ) and it is available for download ( update )? My first impressions after I've updated my Galaxy Tab 2 7" ( from Android 4.0.1 ( Ice Cream Sandwich ) to Android 4.1.1 ) are very positive: UI is more consistent, simplier and in overall OS works faster. I will also check if a power efficiency is improved even more.

Hy! We are trying to build AOSP based system, and custom kernel to our Intel Atom based mobile phones, like ZTE Grand X In. I just tried all of avalible sources, like Intel-3.0-mid source from AOSP, 4.0.4/4.1.1 SDK sources, etc, but I can't manage to boot up the kernel and ROM neither. I know, some devices has almost same board (mfld_pr2) with some little modification. I want to ask, is there any way to get the mfld_pr2 defconfig, and/or device trees + vendor files? We just asked manufacturer, they sent us to Intel, so thats why I am here. Thanks a lot for help, and keep going in this amazing way! Best regards!Gyula

Hi, Last November we announced the availability of MIT GSS-API and CyaSSL embedded SSL libraries for Android NDK applications (previous post: http://software.intel.com/en-us/forums/topic/336220). This project included a port of the MIT Kerberos libraries to Android as well as the development of a Java (org.ietf.jgss) GSS-API interface to those native libraries. Have you tried the new GSS-API package for Android? If so, we'd be interested to hear your feedback and initial thoughts. You can reach us directly at email@example.com or through the MIT krbdev mailing list. Thanks,Chris
