Havok Tools Start-up Errors.

Bild des Benutzers starwarssonic90

Hello, I just downloaded the havok preview tool, over athttp://www.havok.com/try-havok. But when I try to run it I get this error. (http://s1175.photobucket.com/albums/r621/starwarssonic90/?action=view&current=1.png) Then after I click on "OK", I get this error. (http://s1175.photobucket.com/albums/r621/starwarssonic90/?action=view&current=2.png) I have no idea on what is causing these errors to pop-up.

Here is a video of me installing / trying to run this program.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Hello,

Do you have Windows 7 X64 ? or x86 ?
I have Windows 7 X64, and I don't get this error.

I would recommand installing your latest drivers for your hardware
and install the following tools that are required by Havok Content Tools :

The .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/netframework/cc378097.aspx

Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package ATL Security Update:

This definitely looks like a graphics issue. If updating directx and drivers doesn't help you can try switching the renderer. You can either do this from the command line, eg.

C:Program Files (x86)HavokHavokContentTools>ToolStandAlone.exe -r ogl

or by creating a shortcut with the option at the end, eg.
Target: "C:Program Files (x86)HavokHavokContentToolsToolStandAlone.exe" -r ogl

Using "-r ogl" switches to the opengl renderer. You can also try explicitly using directx9 or directx11 with: "-r d3d9" or "-r d3d11".

I hope this helps!

Thank you, using "-rogl" fixed the issue, and it starts up. Thanks. :D
