Intel(R) 20 Questions Contest: Question #3
Question:
Intel® Parallel Amplifier: What Intel® Parallel Amplifier window shows the number of threads created by the application?
Correct Answer:
"Summary"
Details:
Intel® Parallel Amplifier makes it simple to quickly find application performance bottlenecks. Intel Parallel Amplifier can be very helpful for performance analysis of both serial and multi-threaded applications. The interface is intuitive and easy to use: for all three analysis types (Hotspots, Concurrency, and Locks and Waits) Intel Parallel Amplifier displays three windows:
- Main window displaying performance stats in form of call trees
- Call Stack window shows call stack for currently selected entry in the Main window
- Summary window shows high-level info about application and execution environment (Elapsed Time, CPU Time, Core Count, Threads Created, etc). See Figure 1 for example.
