can not find RC.EXE

Problem : When compiling applications Intel(R) Visual Fortran in Microsoft Visual Studio 2005, Premier Partner edition after installing the compiler sometimes users get the error: can not find RC.EXE.



Environment : Intel(R) Visual Fortran for Windows including Microsoft* Visual Studio 2005, Premier Partner Edition.

Root Cause : Under Investigation.


Resolution : 
1. Uninstall Intel Visual Fortran.
2. Uninstall "Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Premier Partner Edition ENU"
3. Open the folder C:\Program Files\Intel\Download\FortranCompilerPro11.0\installs\1033\w_cprof_vs2005
4. Run ppe.exe found in that folder
5. Look to see if rc.exe is now in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\VC\bin If it is, proceed.
6. Reinstall Intel Visual Fortran
7. If you are on Windows Vista, reinstall VS2005 SP1 and the Vista update

Now see if you can build applications.
