Competition at the Cannes Film Festival
The Reel Ideas Studio Program is bringing students and professional filmmakers together at Cannes. The program is supported by Adobe, Vancouver Film School, Intel, Sony and Dell.
Adobe and Intel have come together and set the foundation to change the way creative professionals work, by introducing revolutionary software integration and outstanding system performance to optimize design productivity and allow creative genius to reign free.
Take a giant leap forward in the way you create, with new Adobe® Creative Suite® 3 software, powered by an Intel® Core™ 2 Duo or Quad processor-based system.
“My involvement in the program allowed me to witness first-hand the way in which (Intel/Adobe) technology is helping media students be creative in a variety of new ways, be it through amazing motion graphics design, editing or animation. Armed with this technology, the students’ work quality level is fast approaching that of professionals “

The online documentary film challenge recognizes the best three-to-five minute short subject films created as part of the Reel Ideas Studio Online Community. Films will focus on topics concerning the local regions of the teams. The deadline to register a complete team is May 14 and all documentaries must be posted to the www.reelideasstudio.com site in Adobe Flash® video by 4:00 p.m. GMT on May 22.
For the onsite challenge taking place as part of the Cannes Short Film Corner, forty-five students from more than thirty film schools around the world will be divided into nine collaborative teams and paired with mentors to create documentaries on their experience at Cannes. Mentors include professional filmmakers from California College of the Arts, Vancouver Film School, American University Paris and the University of Southern California. Partner Sony will provide camera equipment and partner Dell will provide workstations to the student teams.
