I have a Aigo P8860. The midinix version is AG.030.5005. Will the GPSD work with this version?

Also, I really wanted to put a different distro on the Aigo, something like Ubuntu or Fedora. Most who have tried had varying results.

If you were to try a different distro, which one would you use? How would you install it? I have been to Moblin, but for a newbee, It is not clear what they are doing although I was able to get the live cd to work on my laptop, but not sure how to get Ubuntu or Fedora to work with it.

I really liked the idea of a mid, just the GPS alone on a standalone such as a Garmin, costs as much as a mid.

Thanks for any help.
