Should Intel license manager for FLEXlm be installed on the same OS machine as that the license is limited to?

Problem : 
I want to install the Intel license manager for FLEXlm on a Windows machine, however, my counted license is for Linux. Can I? 

Resolution : 
Yes, you can. The OS of the server where the intel license manager for FLEXlm is installed on is irrelative with that the license supports.
So the Intel license manager for FLEXlm can be installed on either Windows, Linux, Mac machines no matter what OS the license is for.
