Background:
The Intel® Graphics Performance Analyzers (Intel® GPA) toolset depends upon non-Intel tools for its proper operation, including Microsoft .NET 3.5 with SP1. In most cases users do not have to install .NET, as this product is already installed by other Microsoft* and non-Microsoft products. If not, this article provides information on how to download this package.
Installing Microsoft .NET*
If the Intel GPA installation package states that you must install Microsoft .NET* 3.5 SP1 before the Intel GPA installation can proceed, for Microsoft XP* and Microsoft Vista* please download and install the .NET package from this link. After this install has completed successfully (which may take a long time), retry the GPA install.
Note that the above link is only applicable for Microsoft XP* and Microsoft Vista*. For Microsoft Windows 7*, .NET 3.5 is already bundled with the operating system, but you can use this link to download .NET version 4.
Also, it is possible that even after downloading and installing .NET 3.5, Intel GPA may still say that you do not have .NET installed. If you receive this error, according to the Microsoft "readme" for the product, to resolve this problem you will first need to uninstall the existing version of .NET 3.5, then reinstall .NET 3.5.
If you have further problems with the Intel GPA installation process, please provide details of your configuration and the error messages so that we may help you resolve this issue.
