Reference Number : DPD200152545
Version : 11.1
Product : Intel(R) C++ Compiler for Linux*, Intel(R) Fortran Compiler for Linux*
Operating System : Gentoo Linux*
Problem Description : The installations for the Intel(R) Compilers on Linux* require libstdc++.so.5. Gentoo Linux* is different from most other Linux distributions in that it symbolically links /usr/lib to /usr/lib64 when usually /usr/lib contains 32-bit libraries. Because of this difference, the installation will fail to find libstdc++.so.5 and will give an error:
Resolution Status : This is being investigated by our installation team. Note that use of the compilers on Gentoo Linux* is not tested nor supported. As a workaround, try doing a silent installation of the compiler as described in the Knowledge Base article Intel Compilers for Linux Version 11.1 Silent Installation Guide.
