Around this time of the year many of us start thinking about the professional events and trainings we'd like to attend.  With the current economic downturn, and tightening budgets, everyone is looking for alternative ways to get the necessary trainings, make the right professional connections, and stay in touch with the latest technologies.  Online trainings and virtual events, webinars and video casts and even social media connections like Facebook* and Twitter* all have started taking a more important role in professional life.  What will you do for professional development this year?  The Academic Community has a great selection of resources that can help. Parallel Architecture for Games Courseware

New Intel Parallelism Faculty Training Launches

This new series, Parallelism Faculty Training & Threading Games for Performance will be launching this month at Universität Stuttgart, Germany - Institute for Parallel and Distributed Systems. It is an introduction to Intel® Multi-Core Architecture and a complete survey of the importance of parallelism, threading concepts, multi-threading methodology and programming with threads.  Get the details on this course. Russia: Intel-sponsored Webcast Studio, Saint-Petersburg State University

The Mathematics and Mechanics Department of Saint-Petersburg State University received grant from Intel to establish a studio which will deliver webcast lectures on High Performance Technologies. The first seminars in 2008 were led by Academic Community members; Professor Victor Gergel from Nizhny Novgorod State University and Professor Sergey Nemnyugin from Saint-Petersburg State University. SIGCSE Symposium, March 5-7.  Chattanooga, TN.

The Intel Academic Community Team will be at SIGCSE '09 Symposium hosting afternoon sessions on March 5 and 6. Visit our booth to find more information on how Intel can help you integrate Multi-Core and Parallel Programming into your curriculum.

 

SIGCSE Pre-Show Training, March 3. Chattanooga, TN.

If you are planning to attend SIGCSE 09, come early for a day of parallelism. Professor Mathew Wolf of Georgia Tech will be discussing Integrating Parallel Programming into your Curriculum and Intel's Michael Wrinn will lead a hands-on Introduction to OpenMP workshop.
