Intel® Software Network communities provide a forum where you can interact with peers and with Intel engineers to learn, share, and explore topics such as threading and parallel programming, MID and Atom software development, Visual Computing, and Manageability.
The Intel Brown Belt Software Developer and Intel Green Belt Software Developer are titles that introduce a new ranking system on Intel Software Network communities. These titles follow the Intel® Black Belt Software Developer title and indicate levels of contributions by members on Intel Software Network.
The title ‘Intel Green Belt Software Developer’ recognizes a member’s regular contribution while ‘Intel Brown Belt Software Developer’ recognizes the value a member brings to the Intel Software Network communities by actively contributing & sharing knowledge.
Who can be a Brown Belt or a Green Belt Software Developer?
Any member of Intel Software Network who contributes actively can become a Green Belt or Brown Belt Software Developer.
A member acquires the Intel Green Belt Software Developer title when they accumulate at least 50 points within 12 months from the date of enrolment into the Intel Black Belt Software Developer program or membership with Intel Software Network.
The Brown Belt Software Developer title is awarded upon accumulation of 500 points within 12 months from the date of qualification as an Intel Green Belt Software Developer.
How does the point system work?
With the introduction of the new ranking system, we are also starting a point system. Points will be accumulated for every type of submitted content (forum comments, posts, blog comments, articles and contest entries) as shown below. The titles Brown Belt and Green Belt Software Developers are calculated automatically by software based on the points structure below:

| Why do we want to define "best answer"? Someone's "best answer" is probably not someone else's one. It depends on people knowledge, doesn't it? |

Hi Mike, Agree with you, but the way the system is developed on our communities, only the person who originated the thread in the forum can choose a best answer. That help? Hi Cijo, there is no certificate for brown or green titles. Yes the book is related to software development. Once you opt out, you can opt-in again, but your account will start afresh i.e. all previous points get lost when you opt-out, so opting in again means starting over. |

I have received an e-mail from the Intel Software Network informing me that I have recently graduated to so-called "brown belt" status. It mentions that I can select a book of my choice from an online selection. Can you please point me to this library as I would like to take advantage of it... Thank you! |

Hi Peter, I just sent you an e-mail. Let me know if you do not receive it. As a process, i send an e-mail to every member who becomes a Brown Belt as soon they acquire that title. Gunjan |

I am from mumbai and i want to state that it is really harass from the side of intel that they only got one service centre in india and i.e. only in Tamilnadu (Madras). If any complent arise in my intel motherboard then it will take me a around 20 to 1 months to get back my motherboard repaired or replace it from Intel Service Centre. ----- Conclusion : I future i would prefer to other MBoard like |

Scott Philip Goldberg M.D. | The system format for versions of clearinghouse rules must apply to the basics of conformity and the scarce resources used at Intel for Channel Programming Membership and Medicine. This fact holds true for my work that has files of Pure Physics and Applied Chemistry. |

Excellent! I look forward to this exciting new procrastination opportunity, and the low-dose, high-repetition point system looks, if not positively addictive, at least positively reinforcing (badum-ching!). I love ISD and the largely peerless content I find here, but y'all seem to be setting yourself up for an administrative nightmare =D. |
