Symptom(s):

The error below occurs under the following conditions:

  • A commercial license file is copied to the system in a nondefault directory
  • User chooses option 2 of the Intel IPP for Linux* CD installation program, "Please type a selection or License file name or port@hostname"

"ERROR: A valid FLEXlm license key for this product is needed before installation."

Solution:

Check that your license is valid. If your license is valid, copy the license file to the /opt/intel/licenses directory before installation of the product from the CD.

This problem will be fixed in an upcoming version of the Intel IPP.
