Intel IPP versions 5.x and earlier contained a Runtime Installer (RTI), which was a tool to install the redistributable dispatcher and processor-specific DLLs to WINSYSDIR on the target system.
Due to potential conflicts which can occur when multiple Intel IPP versions are installed to a single system and to the same location (e.g. WINDOWS\system32), the version was added to the Intel IPP DLL file names (e.g. ipps-6.0.dll) and the RTI was removed from Intel IPP 6.0. Developers retain fine control over how the Intel IPP DLLs are distributed to the target system.
