It would be of great assistance is, as a licensed user of Intel products (in particular the MKL and Performance Primitive libraries) registration wasn't required to download them The registration process is tedious and having to 'register' to access a licensed product wastes time.

To get a feel for how some of the constituent parts work in the latest version of the Intel MKL, build the examples on the command line. Because they build via makefiles, we first need to set the environmental variables to use the nmake tool that ships with MS Visual Studio 2008:
c:Program FilesIntel..MKL> set PATH=%PATH%;.;C:Program filesMicrosoft Visual Studio 9.0VCbin
Now we run the vcvars32.bat script to ensure that the environment is set: C:..>vcvars32.bat
Now we must set the path for the Intel compilers:
set PATH=%PATH%;.;C:Program FilesIntelCompiler11.165binia32
Now we must run a script to ensure the compilers that are set in the makefiles will compile:
ifortvars_ia32.bat ..Now in the examples directory, we cd to, say, blas: nmake lib32 function=dgemm+
It will build and form a _results directory, where you then cd to the intel_parallel_32_iomp5_lib directory. Run it.
