JIT APIs and Attaching to a Process

As of Update 5 of the VTune™ Amplifier XE 2011 performance profiler, Sept. 2011, attaching to a process that uses the User APIs or JIT APIs is not supported.  That is, the APIs will not work in the case of attaching to a running process using Hotspots, Concurrency, or Locks and Waits analysis types.  This includes, but is not limited to, the Frame APIs and User Event APIs.  The current design does not allow for this use case - the VTune Amplifier XE must launch the application.  We understand users are interested in this use case and are considering this feature request for a future release.
