just a thought (I’m also a screenwriter and I’m into fantasy stuff …)

MOTTO: “Submit your original game CONCEPTS” (from Contest Home/ ENTER)

Let me state first that my demo is doing fine and it’ll be up and running before the due date.

BUT:

What if Intel will actually create the finalists’ demos? This contest is about “the best concept”. Intel can obviously afford that, and, hey, it’s about making money, why would a glorious concept be lost just because of a mediocre programmer? (I’m absolutely not saying that I have a mediocre programmer). But since “the best concept” is the issue, what if all the finalists would stand an equal chance (i.e., all the programmers will be of equal/similar value)?

As of right now (remember again: I’m NOT complaining. I’m just happy that the Finalists List was published and I feel like saying something) the contest has 2 stages:

(1). Who has the best concept?
(2). (Once on the Finalists List): Who can afford the best programmer/animator etc.

Obviously the initial idea and stated reason for this contest (1) will be (most probably) overpowered by (2): in the end the guys who can afford the best programmer/animator will win, while the best concept (and best potential money maker?) might go to the garbage bin.

Don’t worry too much about my post, as I said: It’s “just a thought”

Congrats to all that made it to the Finalists List!
