Please follow the steps provided below to set up the client software to point to the license server for Intel products to use floating license:

INSTALLATION Of PRODUCT :

1. If you have not done so already, download the product from https://registrationcenter.intel.com
2. Copy the full (original) license file to your system's default license folder;

  • On Windows*: \Program Files\Common files\Intel\Licenses\
  • On Linux*: /opt/intel/licenses/
  • On MAC OS* X: /Users/Shared/Library/Application Support/Intel/Licenses

3. Open the file you downloaded, and proceed through the installation process;
4. When prompted by the product installer, provide the full path to the license file.

For example, "opt/intel/licenses/l_cc_cd_eval.lic." Do not change the file type as the ".lic" extension is critical.

Note: You cannot use the port@server mechanism or the USE_SERVER mechanism during the installation of client application. You would need a complete license file residing on the client system during the process of installing a client application. After installation, you could then use the Option.

USE THE PRODUCT :

1. To avoid any license change on the client system in the future, please do following:

1) Rename the old existing .lic license file at above folder to xxx.original.txt.
2) create a NEW license file with the format below manually: you can combine multiple servers too.

SERVER <server-name1> <hostid1> <port1>
SERVER <server-name2> <hostid2> <port2>
SERVER <server-name3> <hostid3> <port3>
USE_SERVER

3) Save the above text as a .lic file to the default license folder; the default license folder is:

  • On Windows: \Program Files\Common files\Intel\Licenses\
  • On Linux: /opt/intel/licenses/
  • On MAC OS X: /Users/Shared/Library/Application Support/Intel/Licenses

2. Start using the product.
