CPUID(1) EDX:Bit28 is 1 on Q9550, which in turn has no Hyper-Threading support at all.
On i7 860 EDX:Bit28 is always 1, no matter if HTT is on or off in BIOS.

So I guess, detecting HTT in the described way does not work.
