Hey azazel,

It would be best if you posted this issue and the exact error over on the forum: http://software.intel.com/en-us/forums/whatif-alpha-software/

I'll try to help when you got the whole error listed. Are you just building the package as you downloaded it?

Make sure you have built Ogre (in extern) and built SystemGraphicsOgre

Thanks,
Orion

Hey milo,
There are a few things that prevent the Smoke demo from running on the Mac; the main one is the dependence on DX for the trees, fire, and input. It should be easy enough to port these to the Mac. Consider looking at middleware like Ogre3D (which supports OpenGL) and Havok (which supports most platforms). There is a lot of material you can use to develop games for the Mac.

Hope this helps.
Thanks,
Orion

@Scott Thanks for the feedback! We were able to fully download the Source Code for Smoke (192MB). Perhaps you were timing out for some reason; my suggestion is to try again. If you continue to be unable to download it, let us know in the Forums, and we'll see if we can try something else.

I used VC++ 2008 Expres Edition to compile the source. It compiled fine, but tbb.dll seems to depend on msvcp80.dll. It's ok, I can install the redistributable, but I'm curious about where did the DLL end up when I installed the binaries? I can find it from several places on my computer, but none of them is related to the demo.

Hey Andy,

The tbb dll's are located in bin\{build_type}. The msvcp80.dll is part of the Visual Studio installation and is dependent on the version install. I hope that answers your question.

Thanks,

Has anyone been able to compile the Smoke source on Visual Studio 2010 Beta on Windows 7?

I have tried, but have been getting some error messages. Here are some of the lines i see in the errors list:

Error	3	error C1021: invalid preprocessor command 'endif1'	c:program filesmicrosoft visual studio 10.0vcincludeassert.h	26	1	Trees
Error	4	error C1021: invalid preprocessor command 'endif1'	c:program filesmicrosoft

Any clues please?

I have the DirecX SDK installed (March 2009), and i made sure that the project inside Visual Studio 2010 points to the SDK libs/x86 and the include directories in solution's VC++ Directories property as mentioned in the install notes.
