I have an Intel Pentium Dual Core Processor and have the EMAXX P35 series motherboard with 2 dual slot memory supporting of up to 8gb of total RAM. My question is, how could I attain the maximum memory? I already installed 2 memory with the total of 4gb, but it was only counting 3.25gb. I want to maximize the memory up to 8gb but somebody told me that using Windows XP wouldn't support it unless I am going to change my OS to Windows XP 64bit. So how could I know the compatibility of my hardware if I'm gonna use Windows 64 bit?

OMG I'm surprise hoe big company forums take so long to answer a questions in time different from free sites/blogs on internet that will give you a fast/accurate answer for free, and they are not even on the Intel Payroll. Well Jon to ANswer your question yes you need a Windows 64 bit to for the computer to recognize all 8 GB memory, 32 bit OS only recognize 4GB.
