Whom should I contact if I am unable to register my serial number?

Hi Sir/Madam! I recently purchased an Intel Core 2 Quad Processor. I am trying to register the unit online but the website says that my serial number is not valid. I have been trying to locate the serial number but to no avail. Could you kindly assist me with locating my serial number please?
