Using Intel® Parallel Studio 2011 and Parallel Studio XE 20011 to Build an App for Intel® AppUp(SM) Center

Introduction

This article explains how to use the Intel® C++ Compiler in the Intel® Parallel Studio 2011 or the extreme edtion (XE) ,  for Microsoft* Windows* to build an Intel® AtomTM-based Windows* application for the Intel AppUpSM Center.

Intel® Parallel Studio 2011 is a comprehensive tool suite that includes a threading assistant, optimizing compiler and libraries, memory and threading error checker, and threading performance profiler.  For more details please see http://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/intel-parallel-studio-home/.

For the purpose of this article we will use the Visual Studio* 2008 Application Wizard to create a basic Windows application.  We will use the Intel AppUpTM SDK Plug-in for Visual Studio to add the code required for an AppUp center application, and then use the Intel C++ compiler to build the application.  We will also cover the steps required for application submission and validation.
