What information is made available at the Intel® Academic Community website?
Intel® Academic Community Progam is a global effort from Intel to primarely bring Multi-core curricula to universities, in order to equip university students with a thorough understanding of programming for Intel® Multi-core processors architectures. Secondly it will provide access to other University Program curricula. The website is the one-stop shop for all faculty enrolled under this program to download course materials, get access to Intel resources, technical support, and provide a platform to connect, share and collaborate with other universities and industry experts.
Who can enroll?
Faculty from universities, colleges and educational institutions worldwide, who intend to offer education on software development for multi-core processors.
What are the benefits of enrolling?
By enrolling online, you get:
- Access to Intel® Multi-core course materials
- Provision to apply for licenses to Intel® Software Development Products classroom your classroom
- Opportunity to connect, collaborate with Intel and industry experts through blogs, online forums and wikis
- Guidelines for curricula development
How do I enroll?
- Visit http://software.intel.com/en-us/academic/
Click on 'Enroll for Membership' on the right hand side column of the page - Register for a login on the Intel® Software Network.
- Please fill in the required details as shown below.
- Based upon the course information available in the Course Catalog, click Add New to provide curriculum forecasts about the classes that you plan to teach in your university, and the projected number of students who would take these classes. Click Next to submit the enrollment request.
- Wait for an email response from Intel confirming that the enrollment is approved or denied.
- You will now receive an Enrollment Approved e-mail and will be then able to login and download course materials as well as enjoy the other benefits of your enrollment.
When do I get the Approved/Denied response from Intel after I send out my enrollment request?
Typically, you would receive the response within 5 business days, after you submit an enrollment request.
How do I download the Intel® multi-core course materials from the website?
- Enroll online for the Intel® Multi-core Curriculum Initiative.
- Log in at the website with registered User-ID and password once you receive the Enrollment Approved e-mail from Intel.
- Click the 'I Accept' button, to accept the Courseware License Agreement
- View and download Intel® Multi-core course materials using the Course Catalog link.
How do I apply for the Intel® Software Development Products classroom license?
- Using the login process described previously, login to the Curriculum website, and add a curriculum forecast on the site.
- Once the curriculum forecast is complete, an email requesting the specific tool licenses will be generated and you can submit your license request.
- The request will be reviewed and upon approval, an e-mail sent with the serial number (registered code) and directions to download the tool licenses.
Who is eligible to apply for the Intel® Software Development Products classroom license?
Faculty from universities, colleges and educational institutions worldwide, who have Intel’s approval to participate online in the Intel® Multi-core Curriculum Initiative.
How do I send feedback on the curriculum and students trainings conducted in my university, to Intel?
- Visit and log in at the website using your registered User-ID and password.
- Click the Feedback link to provide feedback on the curriculum and students trainings conducted in your university, based on the forecast you would have provided earlier.
For how long is the membership for the Intel Academic Community Program valid?
The enrollment for Intel® Academic Community Program is valid for only 1 year, and covers all current and upcoming Intel Multi-core course grants, and software development products provided by Intel.
How do I renew enrollment?
Towards the end of the year, you will be asked to provide actual results of the university curriculums developed, and student trainings conducted, which you would have forecast earlier. You will then get to review and accept a new legal agreement for the annual re-enrollment.
How do I request face-to-face training on Intel courses provided at this website?
Send an email to academic.community@intel.com, and a Geo representative from the Intel Academic Community will contact you with more information.
