When the user extracted ptu40 package into any directory, then ran the Eclipse in PTU. There are only limited profilers supported, Basic Sampling profiler was not displayed either.
Please see below screen shot.
Environment :
Windows IA32 or Windows 64bit operation systems
Root Cause :
PTU4 doesn't support non-English locale Windows operation system, because non-English language (system locale) displays text in program that doesn't support Unicode.
Resolution :
1. Use Control Panel -> Region and Language -> Administrative -> Region and Language Setting -> set "English (United States)" for Current system locale
2. Restart the system
3. Enable the driver by running (Command Prompt) : a) sepreg.exe - u; b) sepreg.exe - i
4. Start Eclipse in PTU, Basic Sampling and other supported profilers are displayed (supported)
