AMD dips a toe into Second Life

I saw this morning on my feeds that AMD has launched an island in Second Life, AMD Dev Center, as part of their "developer outreach" program. They've got an auditorium and display hall, and they're sponsoring a "treasure hunt" for developers, with a nice Dell computer as the prize.

I haven't logged in to Second Life for a long time, but I'll have to go check this out. More information available at The Inquirer and WebProNews. Thanks to Steve for the heads up.

Intel has dabbled in Second Life, too, and will be doing more in the future (this is called "foreshadowing" ;-) ). Stay tuned to this blog for more info in the coming weeks and months.

Have you ever been to Second Life? Notice I say "been to", not "played" or "used". I find it's best to think of it as a place, like Neal Stephenson's Metaverse from Snow Crash, the idea that inspired it. Nathan Prugh		 how do i get the video driver crashes to work with my intel video driver??? secondlife is causing it to quit working...
