In the latest versions of the Intel AMT DTK, I have added two new modes of operations to Intel AMT Commander: Single Computer Mode and Simplified Mode. I want to explain both of these modes in depth since they are really interesting for people that want to make use of Intel AMT Commander from within another application.
In single computer mode, the user must invoke Intel AMT Commander with a set of command line arguments as follows:
"Intel AMT Commander.exe" --h:<hostname> -u:<username> -p:<password> [-tls]
When called with all this information, Intel AMT Commander will change the UI a bit and focus on remote management of a single computer. This simplified the user interface a little and Commander will automatically connect to the target computer. Once connected, the left tree view will automatically open and all the normal management options are available. Commander will not store the computer information given using the command line. Note that the "-tls" option is completely optional since Commander will still automatically detect use of TLS, but it will make the connection a bit faster since it does not have to guess.
This option is very interesting if you already have a management application and simply wish to invoke Commander from within your application.
The other simplified mode will reduce the functionality of Intel AMT Commander to make it suitable to SMB mode only.
"Intel AMT Commander.exe" --s
It's great for users just getting started and users that are not interested in the more advanced usages and debugging. Both options can be combined together if needed.
