Here is the latest OpenSolaris video we did on the subject of virtualization.

Here's also a chance to meet Ashok Raj, one of the Intel senior kernel guys working on OpenSolaris.

Hi,

Thanks for all the work Intel is putting into Solaris for us here !
Could you maybe blog about what Intel is doing about getting 3D graphics support into OpenSolaris/Xen (xVM) for guests ?
Many Workstation users who use Solaris as Dom0 and Windows as a DomU would like to have full 3D accel in there VM.

Thanks and look forward to more of your updates,
Edward.

I just don't know. After reading The Truth about Linux (http://www.promotinglinux.com/truth/) I don't feel safe anymore even with OpenSolaris.

Betty:

That link you provide has nothing to do with the real thing. I had been in Windows for almost all my life, then I went through Linux and now Unix, specifically Solaris and I have to say to you that no distro or operating system is a 100% perfect. I personally use OpenSolaris as my home server (ZFS storage) and it's a rock solid free o.s. Windows is pretty stable as well but not free at all.
If you are in Unix, give OpenSolaris a try. If you are in Windows, just stick to that becasue IMHO OpenSolaris is not ready to be a competitive desktop for the time being, it's more like the flag ship to implement all the cutting edge projects out there.

Regards,

Leandro.
