With the Intel Developer Forum (IDF) coming in just a few weeks the excitement (and the long hours in the office) grows. One of the key messages at the event will be “Carry Small, Live Large” (CSLL) which is a vision held by Intel for future mobile computers. In a nutshell it is the vision of more powerful, small form-factor devices that are more aware of the environment and offer a more personal interaction with the user. This is a device with rich computing capabilities such as telephony, media, gaming & the Internet to name a few but this isn’t the limit. It is a platform for creating new kinds of applications and interactions as well.
One of the key ingredients of CSLL is the context awareness aspects of the devices. If you are at IDF, there will be a number of presentations, a chalk talk and demos about it. If you have a chance to come by, we’d love to talk to you:
FUTS001: Sensors and Platform Ingredients for Context-Awareness (Aug 19 @ 3:00 pm in Room 2007)
FUTS002: The Software Middleware and Algorithms of Context-Aware Computing (Aug 19 @ 4:00 pm in Room 2007)
FUTS003: Context-Aware Applications and Services (Aug 19 @ 5:00 pm in Room 2007)
FUTC002: Context Awareness Chalk Talk: Carry Small Live Large Research (Aug 20 @ 2:40 pm in Chalk Talk 2 Room)
SFTS003: Context Awareness – A New Paradigm for Personalized Computing (Aug 21 @ 1:40 pm in Room 2008)
Demo Booth #110: Context – Automating Daily Decisions
Thanks,
Lester
