AMT SDK 4.0 ready for download
By Lance Atencio (Intel) (21 posts) on August 18, 2008 at 9:24 am
The latest version of the AMT SDK is now available for download in the Manageability Community.
This SDK supports the new features of AMT 4.0 available in the recently launched Intel Centrino 2 with vPro, codenamed Montevina.
The key new features of AMT 4.0 that are supported in the AMT SDK 4.0:
- Client Initiated Remote Access (CIRA) – Now known as "Fast Call For Help", allows client machines outside of their trusted intranet to make a call for help over the internet and establish a remote management connection.
- Secure Audit Log support – enables some policy based events on the system to be monitored by designated auditors without any possible disruption by administrators.
- Network Access Protection (NAP) support - Allows Intel AMT to gain Out Of Band access to a Microsoft NAP enabled network for SW updates, inventories, remote diagnostics, etc.
- Wireless Configuration – provides ability to manage the clients through their wireless network connection and modify communication profiles and settings.
I encourage you to get a copy, read the documentation, peruse the code and try out the samples to see how the new features might fit into your applications.
I have been getting familiar with the Audit Log samples and am really interested in seeing how this will be adopted. If you have any thoughts on using Audit Log please reply with your comments.
And, as always, if you have any questions, we’d love to hear from you on our Manageability Forum.
