India Game Developer Forums

By Preethi Raj (Intel) (4 posts) on August 18, 2008 at 3:20 am

Starting this August 08, we kick start a series of Game Developer Forums in India. The world of gaming where breakneck speeds and high quality graphics are the only weapons that can help win a fight to the finish, the Game Developer Forum aims to equip developers with ammunition that can help them elevate their graphics standards to new levels.

If you have attended one of these events, share your thoughts and experiences with us.  Tell us what you think about these events, the topics that you would like covered in future events, the Visual Computing Community on the Intel® Software Network, Intel’s Visual Computing Products, the Game Demo Contest, or just about any other feedback that you would like to share with us.

Mentors
Hi, Mentors is a Professional MarCom consulting group. As we were discussing and developing a concept for a Large Retail Centre in Bangalore, we stumbled up on an idea to engage customers with a simple but exciting Game. We require a Large Format Gaming Software which is very fast, fool proof and easy to use. The development, design and deployment would be done in a month's time. If any of you are excited about this opportunity and would like to team up with us for a long term, please do reply at the earliest possible.

Regards

Begin the first one to conduct in India on this newly emerging gaming industry this one looks awesome. I got so much information (and goodies ;-)) from this event.

From Lakshmi's presentation, I got so valuable information on multi-core as such and all the intricacies as such. Now I feel that I can advice my colleagues on the pathway of future development in gaming. I have expected more coding based examples but since the crowd is a mixture of coders and artist they might have cut shorted it out, but I do expect more coding based examples in the future.

Before the start of IIG presentation, I expected more from that and still it didn't met it. So I'm a bit disappointed maybe bcoz the time is not enuf for the presentation I dunno ... So having the event on weekend and conducting it as a whole day event would be a much better choice than a weekday and just a half day event. Just consider this as an request. Some of my colleagues were not able to attend this is happening in weekday.

Uday is just awesome in his style of presentation ...He covers what is necessary and did it soooo well ...I am very impressed. Hope he continues his visit to this in the future events also.

and Preethi did a good job too. Thanks a lot for this event and the goodies ... Do conduct regular events like this and conduct it in a larger scale if u wanna. I am a hardcore techie guy and so I expect some seminar which addresses my thirst... so conduct some pure technical seminars too.

Thanks once again

This community from intel is an excellent idea for all the small scale institutions , colleges, companies . Sharing bits of the knowledge leads to an untimate devolopment. Its neither a commecial approach nor a social. Hence when the participation and interaction of this community increases we will soon have a technical devolopment like no other country in the present market.

got more idea about the intel processores, need to conduct the forums on weekends( so that everyone attend the forum, some of my friends didn't attend due office work ), Please conduct the gaming tournament between team( Team Match , so everyone knows each other, we can able to interact with others too), Need to learn lot technologies in gaming, we need to discuss it in large extent. please send this type of events notification to all the leading game companies in india, so that ( intel ) can interact with the companies directly...

India is booming in the gaming domain, with few companies over here are moving in the direction. The event like this is a good inspiration for a game developers like me. Today it is a good knowledge update for me regarding the Intel "multicore" technologies and the intel integrated graphics.
I hope more such sessions will inspire the game development in India. As we want to develop not only game, but also the market in case of India.
Thanks for the Intel to start things here..

This is one of the useful semiar for my carrer, Since being an J2EE Application developer i ever done any gaming programm. But today i got the idea and understand the need of emerging technology of multi-core and parallel programming with multi-thred. Innovative seminar's like this should reach out all the Educational institutions and S/W industires as well so that our Indians will aware of this parallel programming and come out with their innovative ideas of their own. It has benifited a lot to me and defanatly i will become a multithread programmer with the technology which intel has provided. Proud to had this oppertunity and thanks a lot.. keep going.. dont stop your innovations and cerating innovators.. like me!..

Get in touch with more game developers and get feedback regarding sessions that will interest them. That will ensure better attendance and a more "animated" participation in the proceedings. Overall, this is a great initiative and hats off to Intel for doing this pro bono.

The Forum was very informative and interesting. The first presentation by Mr Lakshmi was very enlightening to me as some of the indepth details about the topics which were covered were absolutely fantastic and has educated me to some length. The sessions were interactive and because of the questions asked we got to learn something more. Of course some of the topics were relevant to me somewhere as I am from the animation field and would like to venture into gaming also. The gaming event was very good. I liked Spore and will definitely buy the original game dvd. Overall it was a grand success. Keep it up. God Bless!!!

An extremely good business & tech initiative by Intel which will help all motivated developers.

We now have a basic idea about how developers can utilize the Intel processors in a better way.

Also very detailed information regarding all the processor families and their capabilities. This will definitely help us while we invest our money in the hardware that we use for software development. Normally, the laptop and PC dealers are unable to give us such clear information about the processor capabilities.

We are looking forward to benefit from the marketting support as offered as part of the Intel Software Partner Program.

Join the program and attend the seminars that are of interest to you. No other processor manufacturers are taking such initiatives, as yet, in India.

So take advantage of this. Good for business. The Intel Software Partner Program definitely makes a lot of sense to us, LolyaGames.

That's all.

Have fun.

Creative Signal Processing has developed few pattern recognition puzzles which are also image/video editing tools. These puzzles have been ported to the PC/MAC platforms and also the Windows Mobile / IPHONE smartphones. The puzzles have received good reviews from teenagers and university students.
