Claims-Based Identity - Microsoft Code Name "Zermatt"
By Doug Holland (Intel) (249 posts) on August 22, 2008 at 1:24 pm
An interesting new addition to the .net framework has recently been released as a beta on Microsoft Connect. Microsoft Code Name "Zermatt" provides a set of .net framework classes designed to enable software architects and developers to bring claims-based identity to their applications.
Along with the beta bits, that can be downloaded from the Connect website, there is also a nice whitepaper introducing "Zermatt" written by Keith Brown of Pluralsight who is also the author of The .NET Developer's Guide to Windows Security.
I'll write some more blog entries over the coming weeks after I have taken a closer look at the classes "Zermatt" provides the .net developer. It is also likely that the "Zermatt" project will feature prominently in October at Microsoft PDC 2008.
