The latest Xeon and OpenSolaris - in 5 minutes

By David Stewart (Intel) (138 posts) on August 23, 2008 at 1:37 pm

In my most recent 5-minute OpenSolaris video, the cats are out of the bag, the gloves are off, and the latest Xeon is on its way. Codenamed "Dunnington", it will actually appear as the "Xeon 7400 Series" processor. (Sorry, we shot this before the name would be known for sure). Enjoy!

As always, if you wouldn't mind watching all 5 minutes or so to the "Intel Inside" bong at the end, it will actually count towards viewer stats. (I know, shamelessly shilling, it's a limitation of blip.tv. But you gotta love the quality).

When will I have the money to afford those wonderful processors? I hope I'm not old and wrinkled...

David, these videos are fantastic. I've put together a summary of them over at The Observatory (http://blogs.sun.com/observatory/).

@Brian - thanks for the nice feedback! I love The Observatory, it has incredibly useful stuff on it and is on my regular reading list on Google Reader.
