Okay, Day 1 of the Austin GDC exhibits. Intel has a nice booth and networking lounge (free drinks - hint, hint) at the expo floor. We're showing demos, tools, and the winners of the 2008 Game Demo contest and the Phase 1 of the Intel EPIC Make Something Unreal Modding contest. Intel Software Network and Intel Software Partner Program are also here to talk to developers, animators, ISVs and studios. Visitors have started to file in and there's an energetic buzz and hum on the expo floor. Welcome everyone!

The Intel guys are just super! Not only did one fellow help me out the very first day of the conference by giving me a dollar so I could use a self-pay parking lot, but Bruce is hugely enthusiastic about everything amd now I have a little Intel spaceman on my badge.
I am at the Austin GDC to give a talk about creating great dialog for games.
Life is grand.
Austin is a terrific city.

Just found out that the drinks are not free at the Networking Lounge. There goes my shot of Johnny Walker (yes, there's alcohol at the lounge, that's a definite affirmative).

Day 1 and we are busy, busy, busy! The Unreal Tournament 3 station is very popular with the CDs of 50 free mods that were the winners of the "Make Something Unreal" contest! :)

This being my first time ever going to a Game Developer's Conference. The Intel boothe has shown me so many new things about pc laptops I knew nothing about. I'm very surprised to find out that there are various console games that are available on the laptops. I think I'll look more into the visual computing developer community..

I'm only here for the swag. Plus the music. Plus the occasional informative seminar and the opportunity to find a new career. But mostly for the swag. Oh yeah, and Intel rocks.

I'm glad to see Intel participating in and supporting the game industry. You'll reach more young people this way, and some of them will no doubt become future Intel engineers (we certainly need to encourage more kids to learn science and have fun with it!).

the unreal contest has been so well received at GDC austin. We had the 2nd place tools cartegorie winner in our booth demoing their tool. They are extremely happy and want to participate in other contests. We have given out over 400 DVD's highlighting the 5 finalist in each category. Modding is alive and well and continues to grow.

For my first AGDC its been a fantastic experience! So many people to meet and exchange information with. This is by far the best way to meet fellow industry types. Furthermore, seeing the amazing new technology and middleware at the various booths in awe inspiring in how much power we will have in our hands as developers to make amazing games!

Hey there. Any way that I could get one of those DVD's? I'm the 2nd place winner in the MSUC Warfare Category. Epic had offered copies and said they would send me one but that was over a month ago and I still haven't received one.
Just let me know where to send my details. I'd appreciate it very much, thank you.
