Tech-Ed'08 started: first impressions from Barcelona
By Michael J Huelskoetter (90 posts) on November 10, 2008 at 10:11 am
Finally, we made it to Barcelona! After a smooth journey with Spanair, a long tax ride to the hotel and severals meters walking distance we reached the Intel booth which is located within the huge exhibitor hall. Here you have a lot of Microsoft staff covering the different areas. And there are even several XBOX playing points where you can express yourself.
Compared the Games Convention Developers Conference we covered in August live from Leipzig, Germany, this event is really amazing. More space, more people, more to see. And to learn, of course. How C++ developers can optimize their applications for Intel multi-core platforms, for example. Or what the Intel Parallel Studio can do for these guys who are used to work with Microsoft Visual Studio and want to multi-thread their software.
Ok, there are only some minutes left till the gates will be opened and all the curious developers from all over Europe will enter the hall. Hopefully the Intel stand will survive this. We‘ll see ... with the help of our Sony cam which we will use to create interesting interviews, cool pictures and some live atmo from Microsoft Tech-Ed EMEA Developers 2008!
Update: They opened up the gates while I wrote this and people are floating around! With a beer in their hand and already populating the Intel stand!
