Post Agent or Agentless - Who's doing what?

One of the key things I have been thinking about is the endless debate on the # of agents you have to install on a client for Inventory, Management, Security & Compliance, etc..   One of our customers (we call them End Users) is working on a agentless installation for vPro, where the mgmt console that is managing is not utilizing the agent function to provide vPro manageability.    While I have seen the challenges of doing so since the agent installation provides a better sync function with things like hostname, IP address passing between MEBx & OS, I still wonder who’s working on an Agentless installation and why?

For the development community do you see agent vs. agentless a big problem? What type of problem do you see?
