Microsoft MVP Award

I just learned today that I have been awarded a Microsoft MVP award for 2009 which, like the Intel Black Belt Developer award, recognizes those who contribute to the developer communities both online and offline.
I am honored to be recognized as a Microsoft MVP and an Intel Black Belt Developer and look forward to continuing to write and speak about C#, multi-core, and other software engineering topics.
If you're also an MVP, especially if you're a Visual C# MVP, then I look forward to seeing you guys at Microsoft TechEd 2009, Microsoft PDC 2009, and the MVP Summit in 2010.
I'd also like to thank Jake Grey, Bruno Terkaly, and Charlie Calvert at Microsoft and the next time we're in the same city dinner is on me!!!

Congratulations! I'm new to this community. However, I've found very valuable information and very interesting discussions. It's great to know Microsoft is recognizing these values in people from this community with the MVP award. Keep posting about C# and multicore! Gastón |

Thanks Gastón, I'll be posting a review of your concurrency book next week once I've read a few more chapters and I'm looking forward to seeing your posts on .NET 4.0 based parallelism and the TPL classes. - Doug |

Congratulations! I am a Digital Media MVP myself. (you'll be surprized to find how parallel DirectShow is). This year's MVP summit was the first I skipped in 5 years or so. Perhaps I see you on the next one. TechEds etc. I am not sure I will be able to attend since I live in Israel. There are teams at Microsoft that deal with parallelization and .Net such as .Net Parallel Extensions. You should probably try to get in touch. I belive that they would value your input very much. If your lead isn't sure where to start then I can probably help. Asaf |

Hey Asaf, I really appreciate the comment and it is nice to see there are other MVP's on the Intel Software Network. I wasn't at the MVP summit this year although I'm planning on being at the summit next year although we'll have to wait until our MVP leads let us know the final dates. It's sometimes tough to get time off and the money to cover flights and hotels, and that's when you're already in the US ... from Israel I can only imagine its difficult. I'm already talking to the teams working on the Task Parallel Library and the support for tasks in VS2010, all we need now is the beta :) - Doug |
