Hello World - how to write an app using the SDK

By now I'm sure you all know the beta SDK is available for download. After talking with several developers who are in the process of implementing the SDK in their app, I decided I needed to try it for myself. I got together with Katherine Wolfe, one of the developer who helped build this site, and had her walk me through building a couple of apps using the SDK. The apps are simple "Hello World" apps just to show the mechanics of the IsAuthorized API in the SDK. Our journey is documented below.
