Legends Wanted! We have them. Want application visibility? Become a Legend.

We wanted legendary software developers and we got them. Five to start and many more to follow. The Legends program is a new way to share the story behind the applications. We all love great applications but how did the application come to be… developer(s). Legends is a way to learn how other developers have taken advantage of the Intel Atom Developer Program and the Intel AppUp Center.

On March 31, 2010, Imad Sousou shared that the efforts of the worldwide Nokia and Intel teams to share the MeeGo operating system code with the open source community is here. This is the latest step in the evolution of Maemo and Moblin. The repositories are open and move the ongoing development work into the open - as we set out to do from the beginning.

Applications Wanted

One of the questions I have been getting regarding the Intel AppUp Center and Intel Atom Developer Program is about usage models for netbooks. What is the usage model and why wouldn’t a consumer just get an application the web?
Well I can tell you from personal experience that downloading applications blindly from the web is scary. Last month I spent two days cleaning my son’s PC infected with viruses from downloading random applications.

MeeGo blends the best of Maemo with the best of Moblin to create an open platform for multiple processor architectures. MeeGo builds on the capabilities of the Moblin core OS and its support for a wide range of device types and reference user experiences, combined with the momentum of Maemo in the mobile industry.
MeeGo also unites the robust worldwide Maemo and Moblin applications ecosystems and open source communities. For developers, MeeGo extends the range of target device segments for their applications.

The (Code) Path To Success
By Maryann Iannitti (Intel) (34 posts) on November 7, 2008 at 6:31 pm

The ever-expanding Intel Architecture instruction set offers performance improvements for a wide number of application segments. With that comes the need to 'code path' – i.e. run the particular code that utilizes the full potential of the particular processor its running on. Of course, there are practical limits on the number of code paths supported [...]
