I know we've been a bit late with this, but it's now here. We just pushed out a new version (0.42) that finally has Firefox support. This still isn't as well tested under Firefox 3 as under Firefox 2, but it seems to work pretty well. Let us know what you think...

This is another feature that comes with the new 0.4 release. The Mash Maker web site now has a Mashup Showcase, listing mashups that we like: http://mashmaker.intel.com/docweb/browsemash.php If you click on one of these mashups from within Mash Maker it will take you directly to the example page that mashup was created for and apply [...]

This post is about another of the new features that have just appeared in the new 0.4 release that we have just pushed out. The Mash Maker extractor editor has now seen a major overhaul and is now much closer to being ready for widespread use. The old "structure" first model has now been replaced [...]

This post is about another of the new features that just came out in the new 0.4 release. We have now finally switched Mash Maker to the new layout engine. This is one that has been coming for some time, and I'm pleased that we now finally have it out. Gone are the days of [...]

We just pushed out a new version of Mash Maker that has lots of new features. I'll be addressing each of these in a separate blog post. One of the first things you will probably notice when you install the new version is that the number of available widgets has significantly increased. This is because [...]

At Mashup University on Monday the 17th of March we launched a new Open API for creating your own widgets that run inside Mash Maker: http://mashmaker.intel.com/docweb/Widget_API.html The API is very simple. If you can write a web page with javascript then you should be able to write a widget. It is also very powerful. Widgets [...]

We just uploaded a new version of Mash Maker, and this is a big one. We've learned a lot from all the testing you guys have been doing and decided it was time to do a thorough overhaul of the Mash Maker architecture. In particular: Widgets: You wanted to do more with your mashups than [...]

New Copy/Paste Mashup Editing UI
By Robert Ennals (Intel) (25 posts) on December 9, 2007 at 7:39 pm

We've just uploaded a new mash maker version. Probably the biggest new feature of this version is an improved user interface for editing copy/paste enhancements. Now one can preview an enhancement before publishing it (well duh!) and the enhancement is described as a simple plain-english paragraph, rather than a series of ugly dialog boxes. The [...]

Are you a graduate student at a top US university, doing research in an area that relates in some way to what we are doing with Mash Maker? Would you like to spent a few months this summer working as an intern at Intel Research Berkeley, working on the Mash Maker project? If so, then [...]

We've just uploaded a new version of Intel Mash Maker. Perhaps the most prominent new features of this release are two features that we've been talking about for a while: Mashup bookmarks, and Microformat support. Mashup bookmarks allow one to bookmark a mashup just as easily as one can bookmark a page. Just go to [...]

I'll be giving a talk about Mash Maker on SecondLife on the 13th of November, on the Intel Software Network's private island. Come along to watch my talk, ask questions, or do whatever. It should be fun. We will also be doing a live streaming video, for those who would rather watch from meatspace. I'll [...]

In my last blog post, I mentioned that I would be giving my talk at "The New New Internet, Web 2.0 Accelerator" while wearing a gorilla costume. Now that this event has taken place, I feel I should give some explanation and photographic evidence. Here I am in costume backstage. I'm dressed as a "Zombie [...]

As of a few minutes ago there is now a new version of Mash Maker available with a New extractor editor, a new type and property organizer, and a new help system. Current Mash Maker users should find that Mash Maker automatically prompts [...]

With all the coverage on Slashdot and other news sources, I'm pleased to say that we got a huge load of sign ups. The good news is that this means that there will be lots of Mash Maker users creating cool mashups and extractors, creating a better experience for everyone. The downside is that this [...]

We've got lots of fun new enhancements to Mash Maker on their way, and I thought I'd take a moment to tell you about some of them. Firstly, there is a lot of useful structured information available in RDF data sources. The current version of Mash Maker can't make use of these since it only [...]

Server stability issues should be addressed soon...

It's always the simplest part of the system that fails. As the people who have been using Mash Maker will probably have noticed, the server has been going down a lot recently. We should hopefully have these issues fixed soon - hopefully by the end of today. The part that has been failing is by [...]

After finally admitting that just having video tutorials isn't enough, we've now produced some documentation for Mash Maker. It's not particularly polished yet, and there are still some big topics that aren't covered, but hopefully people will find these useful. http://softwarecommunity.intel.com/articles/eng/1530.htm

Those guys from Channel Intel on YouTube were kind enough to put up a video of me talking about Intel Mash Maker at the Intel Developer Forum. If you are wondering why my voice is so hoarse, that's because I'd been giving that pitch continuously for three days :-)) http://youtube.com/watch?v=lQ-pwVvHuds

It's always fun reading conspiracy theories, particularly when they are about oneself :-)) I've been killing time recently looking and some of the blog postings and news stories about Intel Mash Maker. I even read some of the slashdot comments. While doing this, it was quite fascinating to see some of the deep intentions that [...]

As I write, Intel Mash Maker is featured on the front page of Slashdot, and our poor little signup server is completely overwhelmed. If you are trying to sign up and find that you can't get through, wait a little while for the crowds to die down and then try again.

We'll be inviting new batches regularly, so everyone will get on eventually. We have lots of exciting improvements planned for Mash Maker that we plan [...]

At IDF this year, Intel is launching a technology preview of Intel® Mash Maker, a research project that I lead, and which I believe has the potential to completely transform the way we use the web. I don't think I've been this excited in ages. There has been a lot of hype about mashups recently, [...]
