Game Demo Description

With the advent of switchable graphics from the Centrino 2 Platform, gaming on the go without watching your notebook’s battery be drained has become a real possibility for an even wider range of notebooks.

To cater for this growing market, I will be developing a casual game satisfying both the Game Optimised for Intel Graphics and Game-On-the-Go in which battery life and the restrictions imposed by mobile gaming will be looked at in much detail.

I propose to make a strategic offence game in which the player must continually grow his base and take over more and more of the enemy’s territory. The game will involve strategically placing towers and spawners to ensure minimal damage is taken while launching the largest attack possible.

As the player conquers more of the enemy’s territory, the visible game area will expand and he will encounter new obstacles to overcome. This will ensure there is always something new being revealed to the player and keep his interest.

Features:
  • The game state will automatically be saved on exit and resume where the player left off so he can quickly close should he no longer be able to play
  • Violently swiping the touchpad will toggle between standard mouse mode and character control mode, to make it easier for notebook users to play on the go
  • The game will strictly use Shader Model 2.0 to ensure the widest range of integrated cards are supported while giving the best quality graphics
  • If configured, the microphone can be monitored and speakers adjusted as to ensure the volume level changes with the background noise level
  • If configured, the webcam can be monitored and cause the game to enter power saving mode when the player walks away
  • Multiple threads will be used to keep the workload of each core to a minimum
  • Vertex processing will be kept to a minimum with the use of MRTs and deferred shading

Very ambitious. The appetizer is nice (Sauron greets) - now I would like to see some more contents.
