What is a private post and how to use it for sensitive information?

In a few cases we may be able to duplicate an issue based on a description, but in most cases we'd like a test case in order to make sure that we are addressing the issue you found.

In our forum, you can include your code in a post there or attach one or more files - this makes the code publicly viewable. If you do not want your code to be shown in public, you can make use of the forum's "private post" feature where your text and code will be viewable only by Intel support engineers. If you would like to use the private post feature, simply reply asking that a private post be started.  The Intel support engineer will start a private post and you can then reply to it.

What does a private post mean?

  • it can only be started by a support engineer.
  • you can respond to a private post and your response post will be private too.
  • it can only be seen by the support engineers and the poster that the private reply responds to.
  • as with other post types, you can paste source code or attach files.
