Attaching or Including Files in a Post

To include source code inline to a post, click on the yellow pencil icon in the toolbar.  You can paste your code into the "Paste Code" box and then click Insert.  You won't see formatting while you are editing the message, but when the post is saved, it will display like this:

Your code here

Fortran users should set the language option to "Plain".

When you see code displayed like this and want to make a copy of it, click View Plain to get a new window with just the code.  You can then copy out of this window.  If you click Copy to Clipboard instead, the copy will include the line numbers.

To attach larger or multiple files, follow all seven of these steps:

  1. Click on Add Files
  2. If you have not previously created a file folder here, fill in a new folder name and click Create Folder
  3. Click on the name of the folder you just created
  4. Click the Browse… button to browse for the file, click Upload.  Note - you are not done yet!
  5. Click on the name of the file you uploaded
  6. Optional: edit the Title field
  7. Click Add as Attachment

You can create as many folders as you want.  These are for your convenience and are not visible to others.
