    Intel Fortran for Mac OS X installation problems
    We are trying to install Intel Fortran Prof Edition 11.1 for Mac OS X.  We are running Mac OS X version 10.5.7 on a 2.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

    We get to the Activation screen and it says "Congratualations, your software has been activated.  It next asks for "Specify Xcode install directory."  We cannot get past this point.

    We tried this as the root user too.  Xcode 3.0 is installed.

    Any solutions for this

    If you used the defaults for installing Xcode, it should be in '/Developer'.  However, I see that your Xcode is quite old.  The release notes specify that we support Xcode 3.1.1 as a minimum.  So you will need the latest 3.1 version of Xcode which is 3.1.3.

    You will need to go to http://developer.apple.com/mac/ to get a newer Xcode kit.  You'll need an ADC membership.  They offer a free account that allows access to Xcode, so sign up if you have not already.

    Now, when you install, you can overwrite /Developer with the new xcode.  However, if you want to leave your old Xcode 3.0 with the older compiler you could install Xcode into /Developer313 or some other non-default directory.  Then install the Intel compiler and point it to this new directory.  Just remember to add the new Xcode app to your Dock after removing the old link on the Dock to Xcode 3.0.
