I'm working with quite complex non convex meshes for a real time application. For the moment, I'm manually setting a compound shape fitting my mesh, but I would like to automate this process.
My first idea was to generate a basic geometry (such as a sphere) for each dicrete pooint of the space which is inside the mesh, the spacing between discrete points being the amount of approximation for the detection of collision. However, for a fine detection or big objects, I would have many many child shapes for my hkpConvexListShape compound body, and this could take a lot of time.
And here come my question : is it possible to generate a hierarchy of shpere geometry with Havok ? (e.g. using thehkpBvTreeShape class)
Reading the documentation, it seems that hierarchical structure are good to put on meshes directly, but is it possible to use them with many small spheres ?
