Application Note 485 concernsCPUID and how to determine which hw features are enabled.The document implies that I can find theexamples in the application note on theIntel website, "...In addition, updated versions of the programming examples included in this application note are available through your Intel representative, or visit Intels
website at http://developer.intel.com/." Will you tell me where I can download the source filesfor the programming examples? Ideally you would also supply a samplebuild script.

As far as I know, those examples aren't available as source files. You can copy and paste them from the AP-485 itself. However, without understanding of how CPUID works and without being aware of some gotchas you might not be able to do anything usefull with those examples.
