ILU01 - Application install error

ILU01 - Application install error

thomas-klabunde's picture
Hello! Now we got the following error mesage.... -------- Failure Reason: ILU01 - Application install Additional Comments: In both Windows XP and Win 7 the application does not download or install from AppUp. The most common issue observed in this area has to do with properly advertised shortcuts within the .msi . Please see packaging requirements located here: http://appdeveloper.intel.com/en-us/article/packaging-requirements and troubleshooting tips located here: http://appdeveloper.intel.com/en-us/article/troubleshooting-validation-f... and confirm that your .msi meets the requirements. Please also see the article on beta testing: http://appdeveloper.intel.com/en-us/article/beta-testing and beta test your application using AppUp prior to resubmission. Thank you! Check the failure code against the Intel(R) Application/Component Suitability Guidelines and Validation Criteria document. This document lists the error codes and the associated tests that were run on your application. Additional comments provided may help narrow down the specific failure(s). Once you revise your code please resubmit it for validation. -------- I think this message is something very general. If the download fails, then it is surely something not work properly with the Intel server. We have found in AppUp that you must start the download of a software up to 20 times, before he goes through. In other cases, there is the very informative error message: "Oops, everything is happend! How can we get more detailed information? And when will Intel corrected the server error? Thank you Thomas

Hello,
do I have to ask this type of question in the support forum?

Hello Thomas,

Thank you for your feedback. Regarding the AppUp install it can be related to the targets and paths of your application. It is best to follow on the advice given from the links you provided and the links below:

- http://appdeveloper.intel.com/en-us/blog/2010/01/18/beta-test-your-application-submitting-validation
- http://appdeveloper.intel.com/en-us/article/troubleshooting-validation-failures

It is best to do a beta test before submitting your application, it will help you to deal with errors in a better way.

Also you have to bare in mind that we are still in beta process and not all error messages may make sense. This will be sorted out in further releases.

Hello Cemal,
thank you for your ansver.

1. Alltimes we made the beta-test before submitting and don't have any problem. Therefor we don't know why Intel rejected our software.
2. The problem with the download (message "Opss...") is a problem from the Intel server and not from our software.
3. We submit different software and got different error code. But all of our software use the same system (source code) and we find this is not logically.
4. The errors are very general, so that we can only guess the probable reason.
5. The mention of the exact problem would make it easier for both sides. It would be very helpful, if the developer has a specific contact person (at least in the beta phase).
6. We know that the AppUp is a lot of work and actually in beta test. For this reason, the communicatiuon between Intel, developers and users must be intensified. I think all sides (also the developers!) have invested a lot of time and want to bring AppUp to success. This is only together and not against each other.

Thomas,

As Cemal stated this sounds like a packaging issue. May I ask what tool you are using to create your MSI?

thomas-klabunde's picture

Hi Brian,
we use Visual Studio 2008.

Why we can Beta-test our software without any problem and Intel rejected it? We are desperate ...

Hello!
We have checked our software again with a debugger, and still found a discrepancy. This could cause the problem. However, we still is not clear why the setup worked for some time...?

Whom should I contact to update the setup version of the programs "abylon SHREDDER" and "abylon FILEEX"? These are currently in validation.

Thank you a lot.

Best regards
Thomas

Hello Thomas,

Your application is in Binary Validation, it will be in a lock status. For that reason, you will have to wait for the application to come out of this status to be able to make changes.

Hi Cemal,
thank you for your fast ansver.

If you (Intel) find further problems, then we would be very happy about the mention. Then we could also correct this in the run.
