I just ran across a blog post from Red Hat outlining some of the recent cloud computing developments at Red Hat, and it reminded me that Jeff Jaffe, Novell's CTO, had written a series of blog posts over the past couple of months about Novell's approach to cloud computing. I thought it might be interesting to look at both of them together to compare and contrast at least a few of their key points.
Cloud Computing
Cloud Computing, Virtualization and Open Source on Intel
In an earlier post, I mentioned that the Open Source at Intel website was going to have several focused topics about the intersection of Cloud Computing, Virtualization and Open Source. I wanted to highlight a few of those new topics here in this blog post.

Hadoop and Cloudera: Open Source for the Cloud
With the recent Hadoop World event hosted by Cloudera on October 2, 2009, Cloudera and Hadoop have been getting quite a bit of attention from the media, and the visibility for open source software in the cloud has increased along with them. I didn't attend the Hadoop World event, but I heard that it was well attended with solid content.
Using the Accelerometer in your Web app
No, unfortunately, this isn't a post about how to use the accelerometer in your web app. But if you thought it was, read on.
Eucalyptus Releases an Enterprise Edition with Support for VMware Virtualization Technologies
The intersection of open source and cloud computing has been a very hot topic lately.
Open Source Cloud Computing Frenzy
I recently wrote a post about open source software and cloud computing, but in the past week, there has been a frenzy of activity and conversations about open source in the cloud. Red Hat's Cloud Computing Forum on July 22nd seems to have kick started a wave of new conversations about the role of open source in cloud computing.
JeOS and Cloud
The Operating System is a software layer that interfaces with the hardware or physical system to create an environment that allows a user to easily interact with the physical system. Over years, the operating system has grown in terms of complexity and grown to offer different services to support multiple hardware devices and applications.
Some Upcoming Webinars
As I mentioned in my last post, there are several upcoming events where we will be dicussing the emerging trends in service oriented architectures.
